I have a lot of files, and it isn't necessary to scan all of them

I recently tried to sync my OneDrive. I purchased premium just in case to help support because I realise I have a lot of music stored there so it would be unreasonable for me to sync for free.

I started the sync at this time:

2022-06-08T07:41:39 START 2022-06-08 07:41:39

Then I soon get an email saying its finished:

2022-06-09T03:03:29 END   2022-06-09 03:03:29

However I think it didn't sync all the tracks.

I looked over the log.txt I received in an email - the log was 1MB or so (I think this might be quite small for the volume of files). I checked the web player and I can see not all songs are added. I looked at the log and it looks like only 3 or 4 of the 21 root folders had any songs added.

For reference my onedrive has something like 3.2TB of music (222k files 27k folders, yes this is a ridiculous amount)

Am i doing something wrong or does astiga not really support this much music? i was hoping i could use this service to save me from writing my own app to play music from onedrive :(

However, the songs are not showing up in the web player. I used different search words and couldn't find the songs. What did I do wrong?

Especially that since there is no multiselect, holding mouse on the place and keep clicking is the quickest way to delete tracks in between a playlist at once which is now nearly impossible without accidently clicking on it because the button moved, making it play instead of delete.

Moving the add to playlist button to a separate button, so that moving adding to current playlist doesn't need to go trough menu's. Most songs even with long titles will have more than enough space for 2 buttons behind them anyways. See this MS Paint edit for an example what I want, with the play+ button adding to current playlist much like the original + button did, and the playlist+ opening the menu to add songs to a playlist.

This update is purely about the look of the app - not the way it works, nor even the way it is laid out.

We took great pains to focus on one thing at a time - in this case, just updating the styles, fonts, iconography and such like. We didn't want to get distracted by the other obvious things that need improving.

Those will come! Next up, after also aligning the https://asti.ga pages with the new look, we'll be looking at ways of restructuring the UI to make it a little more friendly to your music library-based usage, and also for new users.

Issues include the following:

• Pages take long to load.
• Images take long to load.
• Tracks take long to add to playlist.
• When tracks take long at add, they sometimes get added in a different order than selected.
• Changes to the current playlist are not saved/remembered causing it to remove the tracks at page refresh (and sometimes page changes), sometimes only the later part is not remembered.
• Tracks sometimes seem to buffer long, causing long breaks between songs.

I'm guessing most this issues have to do with server load or caching issues. Since it's on multiple systems and different browsers I'm guessing it's on your side. It's kinda obstructive when it appears, which is sad as when it works smooth, Astiga works great.

After syncing my music from Google Drive, my library is still empty. Here's a screenshot. https://i.imgur.com/EtTQ1x7.png

This is all on the Web client. My music is stored in Google Drive under "Computers" instead of the root folder, and I had to amend the default path in order for Astiga to recognise my music folder. Perhaps this introduced a problem?

Sometimes clicking another song will kick things off. I often click another song and click the one I want quickly again and it'll kickstart it. That's not really a solution, though.

Sometimes I'll be in the middle of something else and not come back to reload and then, minutes to maybe hours later, the track starts playing.

No real pattern that I've seen yet, but it's getting to the point that it's unreliable as a music player.

I only use pCloud, fwiw.

I tried removing folder, but Dropbox storage is still being listed at the bottom of the left hand menu on the web app, along with Dropbox.

For example, to popular songs from this year I have added "2021" in the "YEAR" ID3 tag. When I search my library for "2021", I don't get any results in the web application. When I search in the mobile app, about 10 songs show up.

Is this tag not searchable in Astiga? If not, is there an overview of tags that are searchable?

Or am I doing sth wrong?

and I feel like I've missed something.

When I navigate to a folder I'd like to be able to play everything in that folder. Is that possible? Or do I need to add each track to a playlist?

And when it comes to adding tracks to a playlist, how do I add multiple items at once? ie. f I want to select a range of tracks and then add them to a playlist is that possible?

I really enjoy the Random function in the Astiga app for Android, a great way to rediscover my huge albums storage. But I do not find it on the web player, how is it?

Also in the Android App, Library shows my folder structure from cloud drive, but unlike in the web, not sorted by Artist, Album, Genre... etc... am I missing this feature somehow?
