I'm using a third-party Subsonic client (Feishin on Mac OS 26.5.1) to access my Astiga library. My library is manually tagged (I'm using Astiga with Library Enhancement turned off), and each file has explicit, correct Album Artist tags---for example, "Various Artists" on compilation albums, wherein each track has a distinct and individual Artist tag. For this kind of library organization, when viewing via Album Artist view, all such albums should be filed under "Various Artists," and artists that exist only on tracks in a compilation should not appear in the list of artists at all. Indeed, this is exactly how my library appears in the Astiga web-player when viewing by Album Artist.

However, when viewing via Feishin's "Album Artist" tab (which is distinct from its "Artists" tab), it does not have any entry for "Various Artists," and artists that have only tracks on compilation albums are given their own entry in the artists list. I cloned Feishin and checked its network activity, and indeed, when viewing by Album Artist, it calls the getArtists endpoint---the JSON it receives contains no entry for "Various Artists," and includes all artists on individual tracks on compilations.

On the other hand, when viewing in Feishin by Album, it lists albums correctly: a compilation album is listed correctly and uniquely under "Various Artists." It does this by calling getAlbumList2, and the JSON it receives, under the "artist" key, lists "Various Artists" where relevant. But then, when it gets info for an individual song via getAlbum, each song entry has only an "artist" field, populated by the track-performer---causing Feishin to incorrectly classify the "Album Artist" as the track-artist for the song.

Not sure if this is a bug report or a feature request exactly, so I apologize if this is not appropriate for this forum. I also apologize if this is too focused on a third-party service. But since this pertains to Astiga's way of serving getArtists regardless of third-party client, I thought it worth bringing up---especially since sorting by Album Artist and compiling compilations under "Various Artists" is a foundational aspect of many people's libraries (mine included).

I've enjoyed using Astiga for the last 7 days.

I went to sign up for the Premium version, choosing monthly instalments. When clicking on the Subscribe button I keep getting shown a page showing 'Slim Application Error' and can proceed no further.

Can you help?

I've tried multiple times, both web and app to no avail. I have also verified that hours later, my library still isn't updated with the latest files from my Drive, just to check that it wasn't a pure UI/front-end issue.

b) Search doesn't work for some short strings on web. I haven't experimented to find exact patterns but e.g. "ex" as a search string returns no results (this is expected as there is a three character minimum). But searching "ex:" misses many results including "ex:re" and includes results that shouldn't match (i.e. ones without the colon).

c) Likewise, search doesn't work correctly on the Android app. Here two character query strings are allowed. But a search for "ex:re" will not return the artist "ex:re". Again, I haven't experimented with all permutations where it doesn't work this is just one I have tested recently that isn't correct.

The bio's have been showing up, which is super awesome. However, I don't think I ever seen any image show up in any of my subsonic apps. Neither Feishin (PC, Linux) or Tempo (mobile, GrapheneOS, Android-based) has ever shown images.

I must have read wrong because at first I thought only bio's where supported so I didn't pay too much attention, but I just noticed images where also supposed to work.

One album named Σ is suddenly not showing on the genre page anymore.

However, this issue only occurs in third party clients. It does show up on the play.asti.ga.

When searching in the third party client, it also tells me there are 0 albums with this artist.

But when I click on the artist, the album is there like normal.

404 page not found

on the play.asti.ga domain. It was working fine this afternoon, so it must've broken not long ago. The main asti.ga domain and other subdomains still work, as might be obvious from me reporting it here 🙃.

This only affects some albums and their tagging is not similar, but they are both in m4a containers.

I’m having an issue with searching within a music service in the Sonos S1 app, and I’d like to understand if this is a known limitation or a configuration problem.

I am currently using the Sonos S1 system and have successfully added and connected the Stiga music service. I can browse the service within the Sonos app and play content without any problems.

However, when I try to use the search function within Sonos S1 for this service, I get no results at all. The search simply returns an empty result, even though I know the content exists and is accessible when browsing manually.

This makes me wonder:

Is search functionality for certain music services (such as Stiga) no longer supported in Sonos S1?

Or is there something I can do on my end (e.g. reauthorizing the service, resetting the app, or similar) to restore search functionality?

Any clarification on whether this is a limitation of S1 or a fixable issue would be greatly appreciated.

• When an album folder name contains an apostrophe character (e.g. “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” or “50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin’”), the album cannot be added to the playlist.
• Clicking (+) next to the album and selecting “Add to now playing” does not add the album to the playlist. Instead, the folder is opened and the playlist remains empty / collapsed.
• The problem does not occur with folders that do not contain an apostrophe. It was reproducible by removing the apostrophe from the folder name – after that, adding to the playlist worked without any issues.

When playing tracks from the play queue and deleting tracks located above the currently playing track, the playback marker jumps down by one entry for each deleted track. Background: I sometimes delete finished tracks from the queue while test-listening to multiple albums in a row.

On rare occasions this also caused the marker position to shift permanently, resulting in all tracks between the currently playing track and the new marker position being skipped entirely. However, I was unable to reproduce this behavior during today's testing for the video recording.

And sorry for the late post, I recognized this problem already a few weeks ago, maybe already in october or november, can't say anymore. Cause all the time I "fixed" it on my own.

On the subject:

I have two storage connections to my dropbox account:

• The first one is named "Dropb Musik aktuell", that connects to the Dropbox folder "/Musik/0 Musik aktuell anhören".
• The other one is named "Dropb Musik fertig", that connects to the Dropbox folder "/Musik/Musik fertig".

Both have "automatic synchronisation" enabled

(Just for notice: This music I alreay edited with tags, pictures inside the file, a fitting file name and also the artist / album as folder name. This files are to listen and also check if there the mp3 files are OK and if I like the music. When ready, I move the album folder to the Dropbox folder "Musik fertig".)

To listen to a new album, I chose the folder directly from Dropbox and add all the songs inside the album folder into the "Now playing" playlist by clicking on the (+).

But no matter how many files are in the folder, it only adds 10s in the "Now playing" playlist.

For example, if the folder has 16 songs, it only adds the first 10. Another folder has 47 songs, but only 40 songs are added.

Examples of how I name my folders / files:

• File "001 - Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard - Why so Serious"
• Folder "The Dark Knight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)"

I recognized this phenomenon in both my connections. And I already checked if it could be cause of my browser settings and tools, like the extensions. Or my VPN connection.

But I get that phenomenon also when VPN is off. And I also use the Astiga Windows Web App, where I see the same phenomenon.

The last weeks I "fixed" it myself by adding the remaining songs manually.

But I hope some developer / supporter can fix this, so I don't have to do that anymore.

Storage does not delete.

No console error and the button just looks like it is calling empty JavaScript with "JavaScript:;"

I have had to resort to revoking the integration from the storage ends instead, so now at least I see the 401 when the library tries to connect.

How can I completely remove the storage and its content from Astiga?

"Your previous sync is still running. Please wait for your previous sync to finish before starting a new one. The progress of your previous sync is shown below."

The log shows about 3 or 4 albums were synced (out of about 15 albums in this batch).

But nothing ever progresses in that window. I am only trying to sync a small portion of my music library (about 10G) in this sync, just to test the system. I have been looking at this for about 4 hours now.

I have paid for the Premium version, but so far nothing is working out for me. Does anybody know what I should do here to make the sync work.

Would it be possible to check if the API causes this issue? There where related issues back here where Astiga would not differentiate between different albums with the same name: https://community.asti.ga/discussion/659/wrong-album-shown-when-different-artists-have-albums-with-the-same-name/p1 and I'm thinking maybe the API didn't get fully fixed when the website did.

This is in the Chrome browser on Windows 11.

The whole server went down for a second earlier but came back on refresh. Is there some work going on or is something else the issue?

This once was an issue, but got fixed ages ago. It seems somewhere in the later updates, this issue has been brought back.

When I change metadata, but not the file name, Astiga never updates the new metadata on sync. Due to this, a typo in for example album names stay stuck. This is especially annoying on album names, track titles and artist names as that means the scrobbles also get messed up (but shouldn't really happen anywhere).

For now, I ran a separate sync with force refresh on the folders of the affected albums, but that is more a work around than a fix.

I have multiple formats for one song. For example "Song A" as .flac, .m4a and mp3. in different folders. I have multiple storage linked to astiga.

I use folder structures like playlist1, playlist2, playlist3 and Song A could be in playlist1 and playlist2 with or without different format, but they have the exact same tags

Is it possible to only show albums/songs/artists etc for only the selected storage? (It is unclear to me if this solves the duplicate album issue)

I thought of this approach; You could create a check mark for each storage saying "Use this storage for indexing".

I see a problem in this approach. I have a Folder "Library", which will be indexed. I have another folder in a different storage named "Playlist_1". When I listen to a song in Playlist_1, I still want to be able to look up its album name or artist name. But that may not be possible because I don't want to have Library and Playlist_1 indexed at the same time.

So I came up with a different solution. If two songs match the exact same tags, make it one entry in (as example) the album list. When you click on detail for one song, show both files that match the tags. Also create a default format for which to play.

Why is this so important to me?

I have a m4a playlist for low bandwidth and a FLAC playlist for higher quality. Each song two times. Each in m4a and each in FLAC.

When having only one entry in the album list, it may be important to give the option to choose which one I want to play. When clicking on the dots or right clicking on the song to give me an easy way to choose.

When clicking on the entry of a song, it has to be decided which one astiga will play. Give the option to decide a default format for this. As example: m4a -> flac. So m4a will be prioritized before any other format.

I hope I could explain this in an understanding way. Don't hesitate to ask me if anything is unclear.

My needs are pretty basic, just something that can play music from Google Drive, work with Sonos, and import/sync playlists (I don't want any external service to manage them). It looks like Astiga is the best (maybe only?) option for this, so I'm hoping I can get it to work. I had planned to test it out during the trial period, but since playlist imports are not allowed I ended up going straight to premium (as a suggestion, allowing a limited number of playlist imports (even just 1) during the trial would be helpful).

First issue I've run into: so far I haven't managed to successfully get an imported playlist to fully work. I have a couple right now (M3U and M3U8 modified to use relative paths), which when imported show only filenames and say "This playlist contains files that have not been synced. This means their artwork, titles, artist names and more cannot be shown. To fix this: Synchronise your library". After the next sync runs (either manually, or as part of the hourly sync), it's unchanged.

But, then it sort of works? The page says "Currently they also cannot be played individually from this page.", but that doesn't appear to be true... if I click on any of the filenames they start playing, despite still having the yellow "Unsynced" next to them and showing nothing but the filename.

Second issue: when I did the initial setup, the one playlist I had in the Library at the time was imported, but newer ones I added aren't automatically imported (and existing ones aren't updated) when a sync runs, I have to go to Bulk-Import Playlists. Is this expected?

Suggestion: If playlist changes aren't picked up with a sync, it'd be nice to have an easier/quicker way than using Bulk-Import (which takes a while). Maybe restricting to a specific directory to search for playlists, rather than the whole Library? Or maybe a way to import from the Storage location? I can navigate to the playlist and add its contents to the play queue, but I can't import it from the M3U file directly.

Let me know if there's any more info that would be helpful, or anything else you'd like me to try... happy to be a guinea pig if something I'm doing isn't an expected use case.

I do not require library enhancement due due to the decades I have spent getting the tags in my library how I want them - having the artists and albums modified in my library is not helpful for me. I also need to have a consistent artist and album description across various applications in both cloud and off-line listening (for travel, which I do extensively for work). I listen across such as MediaMonkey via laptop over network, DAP media player, phones and tablets - so it is helpful to retain a consistent experience. Also a lot of my music is highly obscure or old, so is then not found in the online references such as FreedDB, MusicBrainz etc that the pulling of the meta-data is from.

When I run a library re-sync of 100K+ tracks earlier, the sync itself is done in an hour or so. But the following check for all the artists and albums I do not require, but still runs as part of library enhancement is still running four hours later and only up to the letter C of the artists.

It would be more efficient and take less server processing to identify when library enhancement is off and not initiate the checking of the artists and albums for this data.

Also, Symfonium will add the additional artist data (which can be toggled off) without modifying the albums, which feels a sensible half-way option for those of us with albums we have spent time describing to fit our preferences (people with extensive libraries of their own music stored in the cloud will more likely to of done this work, younger more casual listeners will not).

I wrote a quick bash script to convert them to mp3, so I'm saved for now. But it might be something you wanna look into.

I have tried resyncing my library, removing all the playlists and readding them, but the error remains.

The album has not appeared in her library either but when I went to "Browser" it just says "No data". When I enable "Browse by tags" her library appears but it is not a folder structure so cannot see the newly added album.

When try to play some non-cached songs I get a "failed to download" error.

If I go offline I can see and play whatever is cached.

I have tested the connection and it says "Connection is ok."

I didn't see it immediately but waited till the next day to check again, still not there.

I set a manual sync (at some point) yesterday and it still has not appeared.

I can see the folder/files and play them via the file browser.
