So I just went back to some artist pages on play.asti.ga and noticed they don't have artist images and descriptions anymore. I'm guessing based on this that with the non-testing release it was put together with library enhancement. But where I'm rather fond of having everything ordered exactly how I set it, I do want to have some nice artist images and text. Preferable adjustable to my taste, but I take some "standard" one over none 😉. So I would like to see those two options separated, as I want one but not the other.

Further more, the reason I went checking is because I noticed a lot of Subsonic clients have artist pages, like Feishin (desktop) and Tempo (Android), which makes me assume there is an option to send these over Subsonic. Sadly, Astiga just leaves them empty currently. It would be great if these images and biographies could be send to other clients as well.

It made me wonder if there is any way to auto-port all playlists from one storage to another. I know that playlists are using exact file paths, but for these kind of bulk-changes it would be nice (and shouldn't be too complex) to bulk-change alter the path of one storage to another. So that, assuming the folder structure inside both storages are the same, all playlist keep working.

Is this something that can be done? be it automatically, be it manually by you on request.

I'd like to see a way to "link" multiple genres to an album. Currently, if an album is tagged "Pop; Rock" it doesn't show up under "Pop" or "Rock". It could be fairly easily doable if there's currently a mapping of [genre: album] stored in the database somewhere (and I'd guess there is). For each album imported, you could see if there's something that looks like a delimiter (semicolon, comma, ampersand, etc). Then on import you could add the album to that mapping using the genre split around the delimiter, e.g. both the "Pop" and "Rock" genres.

EDIT: Excuses, this was supposed to go in feature requests, but I can't seem to manually move it.

I generally order all my CDs on artist name (by last name or group name), then that artist albums on release date. This is to my knowledge a common way to sort CDs. For example, right now my PSY albums go: 8th album, 7th album, single between 6th and 7th, 5th album, 6th album.

When checking all files of a genre etc I do like it on alphabet tho.

With the metadata editor I saw Astiga does acknowledge the release year tag, but when I go to an artist page their albums are sorted on alphabet.

Either sorting albums on artist page on release to create a chronological timeline of release, or even better maybe, making a setting on what way to sort for each page, might be nice. I understand it might be difficult to be truly chronological when multiple releases are from the same year as generally you don't input the exact date, but sorting on year would be a good start as in many cases it will be correct. If Astiga can recognise full dates I be really amazed tho, and I gladly manually retag all my files for that.

I am using Android app, playing from a pCloud repository. I clear the current playlist by opening the current playlist and hit 'Remove all'. I verify it is empty by looking at it.

I choose an album from the Library to play, I clikc "Play all' (for that album). It adds all the tracks to the playlist twice. If the album has 10 tracks, it says 'Playing 1/20'. If it has 15 tracks, it says 'Playing 1/30'. I look at the playlist, it lists 2 copies of all tracks. After it plays through the tracks once, it plays them all again. Because I have Remove play songs' switched on all the time, each track is deleted after playing, so after two times through the playlist is empty.

I have tested this with many different albums, it happens with any album I choose. How do I add an album to the playlist so it will only play once?

Another odd behavior which may be related. When adding albums to the playlist, you can choose 'Play all' or 'Play shuffled'. When I choose 'Play all', the set of tracks is added twice, in album order (1-10, followed by 1-10). If instead I hit 'Play shuffled', it still adds 2 copies of the album, but only the 2nd set is shuffled, e.g., for a 10 track album it adds 1-10 in order, followed by the same 10 tracks in shuffled order.

Is this double-playing expected?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, I have a couple of suggestions for the UI.

Currently, if I open artist by alphabetical, the features are included as separate artists. E.g., I see 2Pac + a list of a dozen features. I believe a better way of doing this would be, as I think GPM did, use album artist to sort artist list as default and use artist to fall back on. This could also be implemented in the search function, although GPM functioned as Astiga did in this regard.

This is compounded by my second issue. In artist view, you have to scroll down to find an artist and you can't skip by letter. A better way of organising this would be to use a grid format, or at least use an A-Z list on the right to skip as is used in the browser section of Astiga.

Thanks for your great work.

I'm using Astiga on two different computers as well as my phone (using only official platforms, or a nativefier app that loads the official website). It would be great if my playlist could automatically be taking with me whatever device I grab. Like, maybe it's possible to be linked to my Astiga account so every device I log into, web, desktop, app, etc, will load exactly where I was.

I was searching some solution to be able to manage/create playlist my music library which I'm storing on OneDrive. I bump into Astiga - I'm still not sure whether this is solution for me, cause there is one major drawbacks apart of described here lack of support for aiff files. My library it's 90% of aiff files and it would be great to have support for them.
