Hmm. The top one works for me, at least for browsing. I have tried using it as a root folder, and a folder within a root folder.
Here you can see two folders listed. In test, the Unicode folder is the root, in test-unicode-parent I have a Latin script root, then the non-Latin folder is inside:
I can browse test:
And I can browse test-unicode-parent (clicking the folder name shows the contents just fine):
So I guess I'm misunderstanding. Can you send some screenshots of what you see?

Could you copy and paste the Unicode string you were hoping to read? Then I can replicate this as a file and test it.

Which list isn't it shown in? There are two types of list above - the list of storage, and the list of folders when browsing.
