OneDrive syncing errors

I have been using Astiga with OneDrive successfully for several months now. I recently did a "force refresh" sync (well, several of them now). The logs suggest something very strange is happening:

This is in fact how every single song it finds is logged.

It is extra weird because that file path doesn't actually exist: I have everything arranged in standard artist/album subdirectories and I certainly don't have a bunch of hexidecimal at the end of my filenames.

Once the sync completes, there are no playable songs at all. However, I confirmed that the audio files are all present and accounted for on OneDrive.

Any suggestions, community?

    Did you perform the token update? Although this was a while ago now...


    I can see errors in your sync log but these are currently just generic messages ("Something went wrong") which indicate the download for the file from OneDrive to Astiga for syncing isn't working.

    This is confusing in part because there are no FLAC files in the root of my OneDrive at all---these are all in subdirectories it's not recursing into.

    Clearly there's something wrong with the sync. Are you able to play by browsing the files under Storage?

  • The files are listed there but will not play. (However, they will play from within OneDrive's web interface itself.)

    I've managed to recreate this and can see what you are seeing. I have some further questions...

    You appear to have two folders in the root of your OneDrive account called "OneDrive" (i.e. duplicate names). Not sure if this will cause a problem, but when I click on either of them I get the same listing of files underneath.

    The files themselves follow the above convention of filename-UUID.extension or are sometimes prefixing with "~tmp" or have the start of the filename chopped off.

    I replicated this in a clean install of Astiga. This suggests to me it's not a problem with any sort of data caching in Astiga. OneDrive really is providing this information.

    So are you absolutely sure you have no traces of these files? I'm half wondering if this is an artefact of synchronisation between OneDrive and your own computer...

  • OneDrive's web interface itself does not show a directory called OneDrive, so I'm not sure what to do about it showing 2 of something there is 0 of in fact.

    Nor does that web interface show any trace of temporary files matching that convention.

    So while it's possible the offending files are in fact served up by some OneDrive API, I don't know how to so much as see them.

    Even if these offending files are present, why aren't they playable, and why aren't the uncorrupt FLAC files in subdirectories not discovered?

    Have you tried creating a new storage entry to the same folder?

    On the homepage https://play.asti.ga/ under Add Storage click OneDrive and enter the details as before. You'll have to request a token like you did the first time.
