        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello Astiga team!</p><p>I&#39;m using a third-party Subsonic client (Feishin on Mac OS 26.5.1) to access my Astiga library. My library is manually tagged (I&#39;m using Astiga with Library Enhancement turned off), and each file has explicit, correct Album Artist tags---for example, &quot;Various Artists&quot; on compilation albums, wherein each track has a distinct and individual Artist tag. For this kind of library organization, when viewing via Album Artist view, all such albums should be filed under &quot;Various Artists,&quot; and artists that exist only on tracks in a compilation should not appear in the list of artists at all. Indeed, this is exactly how my library appears in the Astiga web-player when viewing by Album Artist.</p><p>However, when viewing via Feishin&#39;s &quot;Album Artist&quot; tab (which is distinct from its &quot;Artists&quot; tab), it does not have any entry for &quot;Various Artists,&quot; and artists that have only tracks on compilation albums are given their own entry in the artists list. I cloned Feishin and checked its network activity, and indeed, when viewing by Album Artist, it calls the getArtists endpoint---the JSON it receives contains no entry for &quot;Various Artists,&quot; and includes all artists on individual tracks on compilations.</p><p>On the other hand, when viewing in Feishin by Album, it lists albums correctly: a compilation album is listed correctly and uniquely under &quot;Various Artists.&quot; It does this by calling getAlbumList2, and the JSON it receives, under the &quot;artist&quot; key, lists &quot;Various Artists&quot; where relevant. But then, when it gets info for an individual song via getAlbum, each song entry has only an &quot;artist&quot; field, populated by the track-performer---causing Feishin to incorrectly classify the &quot;Album Artist&quot; as the track-artist for the song.</p><p>Not sure if this is a bug report or a feature request exactly, so I apologize if this is not appropriate for this forum. I also apologize if this is too focused on a third-party service. But since this pertains to Astiga&#39;s way of serving getArtists regardless of third-party client, I thought it worth bringing up---especially since sorting by Album Artist and compiling compilations under &quot;Various Artists&quot; is a foundational aspect of many people&#39;s libraries (mine included).</p><p>Happy to provide more details! However, when I start the syncronization it sends me to the &quot;update library&quot; sub-page, gives the &quot;Astiga will now start the synchronisation process. This can take several minutes up to several hours, depending on your music library size and whether your files were changed or not. The synchronisation progress log will be shown below. You can safely close this window. You can stop the syncing process by clicking here.&quot; message, but nothing else happens.</p><p>I&#39;ve tried multiple times, both web and app to no avail. I have also verified that hours later, my library still isn&#39;t updated with the latest files from my Drive, just to check that it wasn&#39;t a pure UI/front-end issue.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Some of the most common feedback we receive is around iOS. Typically we bashfully admit we don&#39;t have an iOS app, and point them to a Subsonic compatible app. Sometimes this gets adopted, sometimes not and we lose a potential listener.</p><p>So it&#39;s been on our roadmap for a while to fix this. </p><p><strong>I&#39;m pleased to announce that we have started work on our official iOS app</strong>, and we have a first build for you to start testing!</p><p>As ever, we&#39;re taking an incremental approach to development, driving it by feedback and bug reports. We also wanted to get <em>something</em> useful out there and in your hands (literally!). Some listeners only use storage browsing and so might find this valuable! </p><p>This first alpha only allows you to log in, browse your connected storage accounts and play tracks. It sounds minimal, and is, but we&#39;re hoping to add more functionality as time passes.</p><div>

<p>There&#39;s a wider goal here. Our long term vision is to bring the new iOS app up to feature parity with the Android one, and then shift the Android one to the same codebase. This is possible because the underlying technology for the new app supports both platforms (and others). For the nerds: we&#39;re using Kotlin Multiplatform (often abbreviated as KMP). The advantage to Android users is a more modern UI and use of more modern audio components which brings extra features. The advantage to us is that there is just one codebase, and it&#39;s actively developed, unlike the codebase that the current app was originally based on.</p><p><strong>Now we&#39;re looking for alpha testers to help us spot problems and guide development.</strong> If you&#39;d like to be involved, please drop a comment here or send us an email to info@asti.ga asking to be included. We&#39;ll need the email address that you log into the iOS App Store with, so if it&#39;s not the same as your Astiga login you might have to send us an email.</p><p>The minimum supported iOS version is 17.2.         <description><![CDATA[<p>a) Search is incredibly slow. For an exact match search string it takes often 20s+ to load results.</p><p>b) Search doesn&#39;t work for some short strings on web. I haven&#39;t experimented to find exact patterns but e.g. &quot;ex&quot; as a search string returns no results (this is expected as there is a three character minimum). But searching &quot;ex:&quot; misses many results including &quot;ex:re&quot; and includes results that shouldn&#39;t match (i.e. ones without the colon).</p><p>c) Likewise, search doesn&#39;t work correctly on the Android app. Here two character query strings are allowed. But a search for &quot;ex:re&quot; will not return the artist &quot;ex:re&quot;. Again, I haven&#39;t experimented with all permutations where it doesn&#39;t work this is just one I have tested recently that isn&#39;t correct.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m not sure why, but after I synced today I got this bug. It was fine this morning before syncing, which leads me to think something changed with the sync process on the latest release causing this. I suspect some weird edge case due to the name, as I can imagine you didn&#39;t test albums with names like &Sigma; in third party clients specifically.</p><p>One album named &Sigma; is suddenly not showing on the genre page anymore.</p><div>

It does NOT show under Pet Shop Boys.</p><p>Therefore, are you now (did you before?) taking all multi-artist albums and making them Various Artists? No problem if you are, but just curious!!!</p><p>If you aren&#39;t - why do you think this is happening?</p><p>Addendum : I have tried rescanning the library but clearly is still isn&#39;t picking up the Album Artist as I see it in the library. If its id in getAlbumList is &quot;123987&quot;, calling getAlbum with id=123987 gets an identical album object, but with a different id like &quot;123456&quot;. The other data like the parent, artistId, coverArt, etc all match. The album with id 123987 seems to only exist in getAlbumList.</p><p>This only affects some albums and their tagging is not similar, but they are both in m4a containers.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m not a huge fan of the UI on the Astiga app. I&#39;ve been reading that it&#39;s possible to use other audio players in sync with the Astiga service. Can any of you recommend some of them so I can try them out on my Android phone?</p><p>I&#39;m in the processing of migrating from Spotify and their app is pretty versatile and smooth.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi</p><p>I&rsquo;m having an issue with searching within a music service in the Sonos S1 app, and I&rsquo;d like to understand if this is a known limitation or a configuration problem.</p><p>I am currently using the Sonos S1 system and have successfully added and connected the Stiga music service. I can browse the service within the Sonos app and play content without any problems.</p><p>However, when I try to use the search function within Sonos S1 for this service, I get no results at all. The search simply returns an empty result, even though I know the content exists and is accessible when browsing manually.</p><p>This makes me wonder:</p><p> Is search functionality for certain music services (such as Stiga) no longer supported in Sonos S1?</p><p>Or is there something I can do on my end (e.g. reauthorizing the service, resetting the app, or similar) to restore search functionality?</p><p>Any clarification on whether this is a limitation of S1 or a fixable issue would be greatly appreciated.</p><p>Thanks in advance</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Bug report (low priority):</p><ul><li>When an album folder name contains an apostrophe character (e.g. &ldquo;Harry Potter and The Sorcerer&rsquo;s Stone&rdquo; or &ldquo;50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin&rsquo;&rdquo;), the album cannot be added to the playlist.</li><li>Clicking (+) next to the album and selecting &ldquo;Add to now playing&rdquo; does not add the album to the playlist. Instead, the folder is opened and the playlist remains empty / collapsed.</li><li>The problem does not occur with folders that do not contain an apostrophe.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Bug report (low priority):</p><p>When playing tracks from the play queue and deleting tracks located above the currently playing track, the playback marker jumps down by one entry for each deleted track. Background: I sometimes delete finished tracks from the queue while test-listening to multiple albums in a row.</p><p>On rare occasions this also caused the marker position to shift permanently, resulting in all tracks between the currently playing track and the new marker position being skipped entirely.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello there,</p><p>this is a support request. And I hope the topic wasn&#39;t already posted in the community. (Haven&#39;t found anything that fits to it.)</p><p>And sorry for the late post, I recognized this problem already a few weeks ago, maybe already in october or november, can&#39;t say anymore. Cause all the time I &quot;fixed&quot; it on my own.</p><p><br /></p><p>On the subject:</p><p>I have two storage connections to my dropbox account:</p><ul><li>The first one is named &quot;Dropb Musik aktuell&quot;, that connects to the Dropbox folder &quot;/Musik/0 Musik aktuell anh&ouml;ren&quot;.</li><li>The other one is named &quot;Dropb Musik fertig&quot;, that connects to the Dropbox folder &quot;/Musik/Musik fertig&quot;.</li></ul><p>Both have &quot;automatic synchronisation&quot; enabled</p><p>(Just for notice: This music I alreay edited with tags, pictures inside the file, a fitting file name and also the artist / album as folder name. This files are to listen and also check if there the mp3 files are OK and if I like the music. When ready, I move the album folder to the Dropbox folder &quot;Musik fertig&quot;.)</p><p><br /></p><p>To listen to a new album, I chose the folder directly from Dropbox and add all the songs inside the album folder into the &quot;Now playing&quot; playlist by clicking on the (+).</p><p>But no matter how many files are in the folder, it only adds 10s in the &quot;Now playing&quot; playlist.</p><p>For example, if the folder has 16 songs, it only adds the first 10. Another folder has 47 songs, but only 40 songs are added.</p><p>Examples of how I name my folders / files:</p><ul><li>File &quot;001 - Hans Zimmer &amp; James Newton Howard - Why so Serious&quot;</li><li>Folder &quot;The Dark Knight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)&quot;</li></ul><p>I recognized this phenomenon in both my connections. And I already checked if it could be cause of my browser settings and tools, like the extensions. Or my VPN connection.</p><p>But I get that phenomenon also when VPN is off. And I also use the Astiga Windows Web App, where I see the same phenomenon.</p><p><br /></p><p>The last weeks I &quot;fixed&quot; it myself by adding the remaining songs manually.</p><p>But I hope some developer / supporter can fix this, so I don&#39;t have to do that anymore.</p><p><br /></p><p>Thanks in advance.</p>]]>
