Albums not sorting by year

In browser, many of my albums are not properly sorted by year despite having accurate metadata.

When I navigate to Albums -> Year -> Other I see about a hundred albums not being correctly sorted by year. This was previously corrected but seems to have come back in a recent update.

    This is the same as https://community.asti.ga/discussion/757/browser-sort-show-albums-in-decade-by-year#latest isn't it - just in the "Other" tab. I would've thought the albums should be sorted by date, as you say, but it seems the same issue to me...

    Not exactly the same - this is, I believe, a bug where a bunch of albums with proper date metadata are going into "Other" rather than their correct decade. But the sorting within the Other tab is alphabetical. Which I thinks makes sense if it's only got albums without dates.

    In your collection, can you give examples of albums that are appearing in "Other" but shouldn't be? Then I can check the data.

    I noticed while digging through my storage that there are a couple dozen albums that came from an old storage drive that do not have release details so there are a decent number of albums that are properly being sorted here, but there are also a few dozen that seem like they should be getting sorted to other decades.

    Confirmed that the following have Year, Data released, or both defined in file properties -

    American Football (1999) - American Football

    Breath of Love (2024) - Uyama Hiroto

    Drive My Car Original Soundtrack (2021) - 石橋英子

    Frog in Boiling Water (2024) - DIIV

    Good Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys (2023) - The Callous Daoboys

    This would've been more obvious if the year was shown.

    I took a look at American Football and saw that, as you say, year is set. I ran a re-sync and noticed that upon this resync the album was correctly categorised.

    It turns out, though, that this only works if the records of albums are reset first. So we can fix the above by me manually deleting those records, then you running a re-sync with 'force refresh'.

    Alternatively - the requirement to reset the albums is only because of something we haven't implemented yet, which has just been queued for fixing. If it's not the biggest issue and you can wait a few days, this might be better. What do you think?

    Thanks. Once that's done you should be able to perform a force-refresh and it should "just work".
