MP4/AAC files not synchronizing

I added a bunch of .mp4 audio files to my server. However, I don't see them show up after synchronizing. I do see the mp3 files I also added appear so the synchronizing itself does run properly.

I tried to change them to .aac, but it's equally not working I fear 😥

I wrote a quick bash script to convert them to mp3, so I'm saved for now. But it might be something you wanna look into.

I'll look into them - can you give me a file name and/or path to the M4As?

  • I removed them after I added the mp3 files to not clutter my music storage. I can send you one by mail. Check your mailbox in a bit.

I noticed that while I was syncing the mp3 ones, they appeared but claiming to be 2~4 bites and unplayable. One song was missing all together. Not sure if the aac was synchronised oddly or the mp3 was halfway syncing. with .mp4 it didn't work entirely.

I tested with my own account and it synced fine. Furthermore there was no error logs when the sync ran yesterday for you.

So I'm wondering if it did work but you were looking at cached data?

I can provide a screenshot if you like but don't want to expose your library unnecessarily.

I doubt it had cached data. I mean, when I synchronize different file types they show up without an issue. And they did eventually show, but unplayable and with tracks listed between 2 to 4 bits.

But since I've converted them all to mp3, I don't have much to test now. And I'm kinda not feeling like messing with that. Let's consider it something on my side for now. I'll pay some extra attention next time I got mp4/aac files. If I run into trouble again, I'll reopen the issue.
