Price rises 2026
I’m writing with some possibly disappointing news; we’re going to be raising the price of Astiga subscriptions starting 20 April 2026. The new prices will be:
| Currency | Old monthly | New monthly | Old annual | New annual | |----------|-------------|-------------|------------|------------| | GBP | 3.99 | 4.25 | 39.90 | 42.50 | | EUR | 4.75 | 4.99 | 47.50 | 49.90 | | USD | 4.99 | 5.25 | 49.90 | 52.50 |
A look back
We last changed prices over three years ago in 2023 (https://community.asti.ga/discussion/562/pricing-changes-for-2023/p1 ); quite a long time ago. These changes had a significant impact on Astiga’s viability. The adoption of 100% subscriptions reduced the “churn” (https://community.asti.ga/discussion/comment/2307/#Comment_2307 ) of the customer base and we now have a much more even and predictable income.
Why we are making price changes now
We’re not making the same sweeping “structural” changes to pricing this time, we’re just raising them! But we know that adjusting pricing in the past has helped the service continue developing for the future.
The past three years have brought more inflation, particularly in the past half-year. Our data center costs have been raised by 38% and technical staffing costs have also risen in line with general inflation.
So as our costs rise, we need to raise our prices to cover them.
Why stick around?
We don’t automatically deserve your custom; there are alternatives out there.
We’ve continued to listen to your feedback and fix the bugs that need fixing and implement new features (https://community.asti.ga/discussion/779/astiga-roadmap-2025/p1?new=1 ).
We’re continuing to build out the iOS app, we implemented Sonos integration, playlists have been improved and we’ve done a lot of work on the scalability and security of the platform.
We’ve just posted our roadmap for 2026 containing the broad areas we’re aiming at improving. Hopefully you can stick around to enjoy these!
An offer to our existing customers
We’ll offer the same deal to our existing customers as previous years: existing customers can lock-in the current rate during a grace period (from now until the date of the change - 20th April 2026) by purchasing an annual subscription before the new price rises come into effect. We'll refund your remaining subscription, pro-rata.
To do this, purchase a new annual licence via https://play.asti.ga/premium . See the “Annual upgrade” section. Let us know when you have purchased (info@asti.ga) and we'll make sure all the refunds are run.
Similarly, existing annual members can lock in their rate by purchasing a new annual subscription from the same place.
I realise not everyone is waiting by their inbox for news from us. If you’ve found out about this late and the grace period has ended (and you’re an existing customer) email us at info@asti.ga and we’ll make that happen.
Let us know what you think
Please let us know your thoughts about this price rise. Too much? Too little (😄)?
We’ve tried to explain the rationale and offer incentives to our existing customers. The service is nothing without its listeners to guide it, so I really want everyone to stay on board!
Keep listening (please)! 🎶

Honestly, when I saw the title I got a bit worried but I'm surprised how cheap it still is. Working in hosting, I know quite well what data centre prices did the passed year. Add on top of that general inflation, and I think this increase after 3 years is quite fair 🙂.
