Sync doesn't work

Not sure if it's due to yesterday's release, but somehow the sync doesn't work anymore today, been trying multiple times today. It's just stuck on the following:

2024-11-06T15:50:03 START 2024-11-06 15:50:03
2024-11-06T15:50:03 GET /remote.php/dav/files/cambionn/Astiga

It never stops, and it doesn't continue.

At first it refused to start because "a sync is running", but eventually it just told me:

Failed to retrieve log (HTTP 0):

I'm not even 100% sure related to the sync issue itself or a separate thing that came (perhaps partly) as a consequence of the issue. I'm kinda guessing the second. Especially since it's not just the log, since the whole sync never starts. However, something definitely goes wrong somewhere, that much seems clear.

I got 9 new CDs in today, Monday I'll get another 11 and there is one more hidden somewhere in international postal system. Not being able to sync is kinda inconvenient, and it happens a lot lately.

Edit: now this morning half the time loading pages like play.asti.ga/sync and https://play.asti.ga/update-library doesn't work anymore. It gives me simply:

Bad Gateway

If I keep refreshing it eventually loads, but it more often doesn't than do.

Yes - apologies, but we're running more database work and, unexpectedly, this has blocked sync (I hadn't realised until you posted). I don't think this will be complete until tomorrow unfortunately - sorry for the inconvenience.

    Sync has now been restarted.

Everything has been synced now indeed. However, images seem to be lost now? In Tempo all the new albums are without images, I expect the old ones come from cache. On play.asti.ga I don't see any images anymore.

Sporadically also got 502: Bad Gateway trying to play a song a moment ago, but that's not consistent so might be a separate thing. Overall tracks seem to work fine, it may have been a temporary bug giving me that error. But I figured I mention it for debugging sake, who knows what may be connected under water.

Edit: let's continue that here: https://community.asti.ga/discussion/739/missing-cover-art-post-release#latest

  • My experience is consistent with the prior posts. Album art has disappeared for me too, though I can stream sporadically.

In a recent sync I got the bad gateway then 'Failed to retrieve log (HTTP 404): We couldn't find the log for the last synchronisation with pCloud. The last synchronisation was on 08-11-2024 12:55:21; this is over six days ago and so we have purged the log.'. I think the sync itself is working though this time.

I wonder if syncing peaks on a Friday as it is now the new music release day both for physical media and at such as Bandcamp for downloads.

    Thanks

    Mark

Thanks - I'm looking at this now - I think the sync issues are separate.

As per https://community.asti.ga/discussion/comment/3616/#Comment_3616 I believe the artwork is fixed - how is sync looking?

  • The sync was fine already. The errors occur during playback.

  • My sync seems to have crashed. Showing the last log just brings up a blank page, and trying to start a new one says that the previous one is still running. I've got a couple albums that haven't shown up after 16 hours or so.

It looks like a bug showing the sync log. I can see your sync is running... We'll get this fixed.

  • It's been 5 hours or so, usually the sync has cycled by now. Is it still running? I haven't seen the latest stuff come through yet.

  • It looks like it caught up finally.

Thanks for checking! We'll fix the log - basically the problem is that the web server has lost the connection to the logs, so it can't retrieve them to show them.
