what Android players do you recommend?

I'm not a huge fan of the UI on the Astiga app. I've been reading that it's possible to use other audio players in sync with the Astiga service. Can any of you recommend some of them so I can try them out on my Android phone?

I'm in the processing of migrating from Spotify and their app is pretty versatile and smooth. If I can find anything that handles music playing / sorting / displaying / etc as good as Spotify does, I'd be very happy :)

Thanks!

For Android? Tempo and Symfonium (paid) get some love...

BTW, could you post about how you find the UI of the official app? It's something we're looking to improve in the short term.

  • hello!

I'm going to try Symfonium now, but wondering: why should I use Astiga when Symfonium can also sync with my pCloud files?

If you're happy to just use Symfonium on a phone that's fine, but Astiga covers other platforms, provides library browsing and sync (which has to be built by Symfonium on your phone otherwise), library metadata enhancement... basically I suppose it offloads stuff your phone would otherwise have to do, and makes it available on other devices to your phone.

I wanted to leave a comment as a user who has been using Symfonium consistently for the past 3 or 4 years as their only media player using purely cloud storage services, which right now is a couple GDrive accounts, OneDrive seems to fail when syncing when my file count gets to be too high. My issue, and the reason I am looking into alternatives is due to what the admin said above me - Symfonium takes a very very very long time to restore a back up or to sync your media files for both the initial sync/restoration and a regular weekly sync, which still will take over an hour per media provider. You also cannot edit any tags once the media has been uploaded to Symfonium so changing tag errors/mis-matches, etc is a giant pain in the butt. Beyond that, I do love it, it's really a wonderful program and I will continue using it as it is near perfect.
