Artist View

JWPJWP Member

Hi, I'm a new user (premium)and did look through some of the discussions and could not find my issue. I'm using both the web and window apps and have experienced the same issue. My music library is on OneDrive and the sync worked great. I have a large music library, and I have check through multiple artists through the artist view and when I click on the artist's name it brings up all the albums by that artist. There is one artist when I click on them (it states there are 205 songs) I get the "Oops Page not found" error message, and it adds the Get Started options on the left had side even though my OneDrive library is still connected. The other part is that if I go under the Album view, I can find all 20 albums by the artist. The artist is AC/DC and I noticed that in OneDrive the folder is AC-DC. But within Astiga it is labeled AC/DC...wasn't sure if there is a possible labeling issue or special character issue? Just found the same scenario with John Wetton-Geoffrey Downes cd's.

Thanks !!

Yeah, it's the way we encode the slash. I'll look into fixing this. Can you list all the artists and albums affected? Thanks for reporting.

Thanks for getting back to me. In my list the artists impacted are AC-DC, Albert Collins-Robert Cray-Johnny Copeland, Dario Mollo-Tony Martin, Hughes-Turner Project, Ian Gillan-Tony Iommi, John Wetton-Geoffrey Downes, Robert Cray-Hi Rhythm, Smith - Kotzen, Tony Iommi-Glenn Hughes.

It looks like Shaw-Blades worked so guessing it's a combination of the slash and a space....just my guess :)

I didn't go through all the albums since that would take some time...I can go through some of them if that would help.

    Thanks again !!!

I haven't looked into your data yet, but if you can mention an album name or two that would help.

Sorry for the delay, I was scanning my albums for album names with a dash in their name. They all come up in both the album view and the artist view (if the artist doesn't have the issue listed above). The issue seems to be specific to the artist view.

Example of everything working in all scenarios

Artist: Alice Cooper Album: Raise the Dead- Live from Wacken Disc 1

Example of Artist not working but lookup by Album works

Artist AC/DC Album: Let There Be Rock - Disk 1

    Artist: Coverdale-Page Album: Coverdale-Page

This is the example that leads me to believe it is Artist view only issue since the album and artist are exactly the same :)

Thanks again, just tell me if I can provide more !!!

    I took a look...

Artists with slashes instead of hyphens

The artists have slashes in them because that's how they are tagged. Generally, folder names are not used for identifying music other than grouping tracks together to help with album grouping heuristics. Instead, we use the tags to identify who is the artist and what the album, track etc names are.

You can see the tags for a file under the "..." link against each song:

Let me know your thoughts on this...

Artist / album pages not working

This has been fixed in development, we hope to release next week. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks so much for the information and the fix....I'm only a couple days in on using Astiga and doing a lot of clean up on my collection. Some of it originates from the old Microsoft Zune player.... yes I'm old :) Thanks again and looking forward to using Astiga as my fulltime player!!
