A new iOS alpha build is now available: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/astiga/id6745398522

This update expands the Library with new album and artist carousels, making it quicker to jump back into your collection and discover what you’ve been listening to.

You can now browse your full album and artist libraries using A–Z lists for faster navigation.

We’ve also added dedicated album detail pages with full playback support, along with new artist pages that let you play all of an artist’s songs with a single tap.

As always, keep the feedback coming!

Looks great - only played around with it for a few and experienced one issue with the play queue disappearing. I believe I went to album, changed sort to recently played, brought the album up and hit play all. I then went to another app while listening to music brought focus back to Astiga and there was no play queue or a way to bring it back up. It was there before going to another app. I added another album to the play queue it does reappear. I was able to replicate they issue after I added another album to the play queue and went to another app and then back to Astiga.

Possible addition - when you go into album view there is a sort for that view. Could you add a sort to the Artist view - specifically Album Artist?

    Thanks !!

Thanks for that descriptive report - we'll look into it.

Could you add a sort to the Artist view - specifically Album Artist?

Do you mean a filter for the artists list to only show album artists?

    Build 20260324

A new build is available from the app store; this update brings playlists into the Library.

You’ll now see playlists directly on the Library screen in the same way as the albums and artist carousels, with a link to a full A–Z list for easy browsing. We’ve also added playlist detail pages, so you can view tracks and start playback straight from a playlist.

    Feedback is welcome as always.

@JWP We didn't fix the play queue disappearing problem, but it's on the list to address soon...

Awesome...just pulled it down and it looks great. I just noticed I never answered the part about the artist filter. Yes, could there be a filter that would only show album artist. Sorry I didn't reply back!!

Thanks! Filtering is the next thing for the carousels and lists.

When I do use the app to play an album (Play All), if I go to another app or Astiga just loses "focus" it will stop playing the album once the current song completes. Once I bring the Astiga app back into focus the next song starts up without me hitting the play button. Actually, the play button isn't there it is still the pause button.

Also - long term to you think the app will be compatible with Apple Carplay?

    Thanks !!

We've another listener who has reported the same thing, but we've been unable to replicate this. What OS version are you on? Is this when the phone is in lock screen or the screen has turned off?

Also - long term to you think the app will be compatible with Apple Carplay?

Yes - this is part of the playback functionality we want to build out (also shuffle, repeat, casting...)

My phone is on - IOS 18.7.7

This has occurred when: Phone is unlocked and active within another app. Also when the phone screen was off and I believe Astiga was the last active app (need to confirm again). I never made it to a locked screen yet....

I managed to replicate - I played a track in Astiga, went to the Apple Podcasts app and browsed around there, and the next song didn't play after the current one finished. We'll look into this 👍️

That makes sense - I may have gone to Spotify to look up podcast, or I may have been playing a game in a gaming app when it occurred to me....

Thanks for those references. After I made my last post, I was actually unsuccessful for a while in replicating. Then I tried concentrating on other memory heavy apps (apparently recording a 4K video does this) and indeed it recurred. So will persevere! The key is to capture logs of the behaviour at the time.

We've had to park the track stopping issue for two weeks due to staff holidays. This is being reviewed and it's one of our main priorities once resource is available.
